今から、かれこれ10年前、ミャンマーのヤンゴンの郊外のオンボロの一軒家で、現地の職人と共にMOP制作はスタートしました。
当初は、現地の職人は、ただ彫ればいいという感覚で、少しの傷や見えにくい割れ、欠け等あっても金になればいいと闇雲に彫ってしまい、結局検品すると歩留まり10％程度という最悪な結果。
そこで商品となる材料の選別の仕方から徹底的に教えなければならなかったのです。

そして、ヤンゴンへの訪問して5回目頃でしょうか、やっと歩留まり90％位になり、更に厳しい最終チェックを終え商品となっていったのです。

そのMOP商品が、2016年から　当社　社長　高田英美子のデザインと　厳しい指導による有能な彫金職人の手に掛かり、これまでに全く無かった　MOPと18K　と天然石の融合で素晴らしい『Emiko Collection』の作品へと変身を遂げたのです。

Ten years ago in Myanmar, in a dilapidated house in the suburbs of Yangon, we started producing mother-of-pearl together with local craftsmen.
At first, the local craftsmen seemed to just recklessly carve without any regard for the product; they were happy as long as they received their pay. As a result we found out during an inspection that we had an abysmal yield rate of 10%.
We had to teach them how to properly select the materials that could be made into a product.

By the time of our fifth visit to Yangon, they had finally managed to attain a yield rate of 90% and after a rigorous final check their creations were fit to be sold as actual products.

In 2016, through the design work of Takata Emiko and the quality-monitored skill of our artisans, these mother-of-pearls completed their transformation into the unparalleled combination of mother-of-pearl, 18-karat gold and natural minerals that now wows fans as part of the Emiko Collection.

The culmination of effort, skill, and natural beauty, the Emiko Collection was finally unveiled on Thursday, July 20, 2017.
