About the Golden Treasure Box Series
（Kin no Tamatebako）
“Ukiyo-e” is a form of Japanese traditional art that enjoys global popularity.
The Golden Treasure Box (Registered Trademark No. 5836937) series uses mother-of-pearl to reflect the unique style of ukiyo-e,
and carefully finishing with gold leaf, akoya pearls and gemstones brings these intricate pieces to life.
The Golden Treasure Box brand is unique to Takata Pearl,
and is made by possible by two uniquely Japanese things:
the beautiful patterns of its traditional art and the painstakingly minute handwork of its people.
作業風景
The Production Process
- 金を溶かして板を作ります。
Gold is melted into plates. - 金板をMOPの形に合わせ切り出します。
The gold plates are cut according to shape of the mother-of-pearl. - 切り出した金板をヤスリでキレイに整えていきます。
The cut gold plates are neatly arranged and smoothened files. - 金板の表面をキレイに磨きます。
The surface of the plates is filed smooth. - 刻印を打ちます。
A seal is cast unto the surface. - 金具等を金板にロウ付け（溶接）していきます。
Metal fittings are welded unto the plates. - パールに穴を開けます。
A hole is drilled in the pearls. - パールを連ねてそれぞれのアイテムに仕上げていきます。
The pearls are lined up and applied to the various items. - 金箔を貼ったりもします。
Gold leaf is also applied to the product.
